Your Children
……a place for parents to share body, mind and spirit hints and tips for the kids.
Your Children
Your children are not your children
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself
They come through you but not from you
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you
You may give them your love but not your thoughts
For they have their own thoughts
You may house their bodies but not their souls
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow which you cannot visit
Not even in your dreams
You may strive to be like them
But seek not to make them like you
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite
And he bends you with his might that his arrows may go swift and far
Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;
For even as he loves the arrow that flies
So he loves also the bow that is stable

The Way of the Mystic Warrior with David Hand
Sun28th June ~ Glastonbury, Somerset, 1pm-5pm, cost: £15
(plus small entry charge to Chalice Well Gardens)
Glastonbury Tor Initiation
The Glastonbury Tor Initiation, including the purification and healing rite at Chalice Well, aims to open a portal into the angelic and elemental realms that can connect you with the beings and energies that are aiding you on your soul’s mission. David has chosen this incredibly powerful sacred site as it acts as a meeting place between our world and the subtle realms that surround us. Wisdom, insight, practical help and healing may be freely given as we connect with the guides of our path and the ancient guardians of this sacred place. Ultimately, on our journey of initiation, we invoke the powerful energies of Michael, the Archangel of the element of fire, to transform our lives and facilitate a strong bond to souls.
For further information and bookings please call Julie or David on 01202 429300 or e-mail david@mysticklight.com

Title: Grow Your Own Drugs - Easy recipes for natural remedies and beauty fixes
Author: James Wong
ISBN: 978-0-00-730713-5
Price: £16.99 or much, much less on Amazon
James’ passion for mother earth and the natural remedies she provides is evident in this fabulous book.
What sets this book aside from other natural remedy manuals is that James has brought age old recipes and techniques into the present and given them his own, highly energised, spin.
The recipes are easy to follow and most ingredients can be found in your own back garden or in local fields/woodland – in fact, James has included a plant guide to help you find what you need and understand how you can grow them yourself.
I highly recommend the restorative nettle soup as a very easy recipe that will be of benefit whether you feel you need it or not! (I now have bags of nettles in my freezer to tide us over!!)
A book to aid in the nurturing of your tummy, as well as the rest of your mind, body and spirit!
Yoga Yarns - Sunday 3rd,17th and 31st May 2009
Tales from the yoga mat and the Traditional Yoga Foundation Course.
Days seven, eight and nine – We continued to journey this month in to a deeper experience of our practice of yoga through further exploration in to Patanjali’s teachings. We worked with postures that allowed to us to have a new experience of our hearts combined with mudras that strengthened and supported our sense of heart.
To focus our meditation we sounded the Pranava Mantra “OM”
We prepared for and practiced balancing postures that not only have an effect on the physical but also the mental and emotional bodies.
Postures – Setu Pati Asana, Viparit Karani Mudra, Sarvangasana (shoulder stand)

Bitchin’ with Blessings!
Personally yours
So last week I met with an old friend for coffee and a catch up. It was really lovely to spend time just putting the world to rights until a few days later when I started to feel quite ashamed about the level of my conversation that day. My shame actually followed after a day of yoga that had led me deep in to my unknown heart.
It’s a usual kind of thing to chat about other people when the cappuccino and cake are rolled out. You know the kind of thing I mean. Who’s doing what? Who’s with who?
Who’s doing what to whom?! Whether we’re chatting about family, friends, work colleagues, celebrities or even politicians, it’s what tea and coffee were invented for.
Energise through Effective Exercise.
According to the American College of Sports Medicine current guidelines for exercise for healthy adults under aged 65 are as follows:-
Moderate intense cardio 10 – 30 minutes a day 5 times a week or
rigorous intense cardio 10 – 20 minutes a day 3 times a week
to help maintain health and prevent chronic disease.
We all know we “should” be doing some form of exercise. On some level we understand that it is good for us but do we really understand why it is good for us?
For many just the word “exercise” is a little like the word “God” with all sorts of images being conjured up. Most of these usually relate to horrible experiences of enforced cross country runs in the depths of Winter or equally horrible and very public humiliation at the local gym. Ask most of us about aerobic exercise and you can see the visions of lycra literally jumping in your head. Other symptoms usually associated with exercise may be pain, sweating, breathlessness and an inability to move for at least forty eight hours after. Not exactly energising or effective.
