How much is too much?
When it comes to our kids we are lucky enough to be in a society where everything we could want for them is pretty much accessible, now. There is always somewhere to be, someone to see and always something to do. But I wander that in our endeavours to create a life for our kids, that is as full in experiences as possible that perhaps we are laying the grounds to create stressed out adults. Unable to stay at home, be alone and unable to know what it is to relax. I wander, how much is too much? Read the rest of this entry »

Boredom is bliss!
I have always considered myself to be quite purposeful. I mean I get out running (well jogging ) fairly regularly, I have now been writing my Blog-Ezine for 8 months and, along with my husband, managed to bring a small boy into the world. To me to walk the spiritual path embraces a sense of purpose in all that you choose to do, I mean I love the nature of creativity and the freedom, I feel, that goes with that. Yes, quite purposeful or so I thought.
So a couple of weeks back as I continued on my journey of heart, thanks to the yoga course I am currently following, there was actually a further layer, joy of joys, to the separation that I noted in last months blog. The further layer I am struggling to even share with you, is that of boredom! Yes, there it is, heavy and tedious and large as life, in my heart. In my so called spiritual heart. Book worms
….for books and authors from the body, mind, spirit genre
Title - Brida
Author - Paulo Coelho
ISBN - 978-0-00-727445-1
Price - £7.99
This book takes you on a journey with Brida who is on a quest to discover who her soulmate is but ends up on a journey of self discovery. We are all born with a “gift” and it is up to us to uncover what that “gift” is. Will she uncover her gift through the tradition of the moon and the dark night of the soul? Or should she seek her gift through the tradition of the sun and the ancestral knowledge it will bring? You’ll have to read it to find out!
With nature, spirituality, love, ritual, witches, past lives, passion and loads more, this book makes compelling reading. Once I got in to its flow I romped through it in a couple of days and would happily read it again. Paulo Coelho continues to show us how and why he is the master at weaving that sense of connection and spirituality through his stories.
This months link - Anthony De Mello
I am just thrilled to be giving you two links to Anthony De Mello as I have just discovered him myself and I really like his style of delivery and I hope you do too! The banana in the ear story is absolutely priceless and I laugh every time I hear it. Enjoy!
Yoga Yarns - Sunday 14th, Saturday 27th & 28th June
Days ten, eleven and twelve - Our journey continued but the end was in sight as the final days of our course unfolded and these six intrepid adventurers were transfromed in to warriors to assist with deepening our practise of yoga. Instead of Patanjeli we learned of Arjuna and Lord Krishna and some of the symbolic story of the Bhagavad Gita. An incredible warrior vinyasa, asked for us to go deep within and inderpinned the nature of what it is to be a spiritual warrior in these modern times. Over the final weekend we learned about the meridians of the body and how to balance the flow of energy via these meridian points, through the use of yoga postures. We were allowed time to ourselves for reflective awareness and to journal our insights before parting.
Postures - Virabhadra Namaskar Vinyasa What I uncovered - The potential, with one pointed focus, to transcend the body. Quote of the month - Let that breath be a slow breath, a flow breath, a letting go breath.

Have you heard of ……? Landshare
What’s that? A new scheme that connects growers with landowners.
How does it work? (i) You - landowner, grower or helper. (ii) Post a listing - telling others where you are and what you are offering or looking for. (iii) Get responses - using the mail system to recieve and send messages. (iv) Have a chat - and see what happens.
How do I find out more? www.channel4.com/landshare
Currently there are more looking for land to grow on, than are offering land - so if you have a garden you can no longer manage or surplus land that you do not use, then get on line! One pub offered a stretch of its gardens to it’s locals to grow on! What a fantastic idea!
Get Rich Quick!
In his teachings “A Spiritual Solution to Every problem” Wayne Dyer cites a story of a flight he was on. It was a long flight and he got chatting to the man sat next to him. Through the course of the flight he discovered that his fellow traveller was a very successful businessman with plenty of assets and property but that he was currently going through a very difficult divorce which was really taking its toll on his health, physically and mentally and on his quality of life in general. At the end of his lament about how tired he was with all of the negotiations about who was getting what, he turned to Wayne Dyer and asked what he thought he should do. Should he choose the business or the house, this investment or that percentage?
Wayne took about a second to think about it and said “Choose peace.”
The mans reaction was to be somewhat taken a back. “What do you mean?” he asked.
“Well, lets say in this hand I have a magic wand and with it you can have all of your assets, investments, property, whatever you want. And in this hand you can have peace. What would you choose? Choose peace.”
In the current climate it is easy to get pulled in to a place of fear with regards to our personal financial situation. We have become so reliant on money for so many things but in particular we believe that money can provide our ultimate happpiness. We see it as the answer to all of our problems and that all our issues will just fall away if we have more money. Perhaps our perception is that there would be no more worry if there was just more money. Read the rest of this entry »
